BGF has exited its investment in bf1systems, selling the Norfolk-headquartered motorsport technology company to Lagercrantz Group, a technology group focused on niche markets mainly in Northern Europe. bf1 will operate autonomously within Lagercrantz’s control division, which specializes in control and measurement products.

BGF invested £2.4 million ($3 million; €3 million) in bf1 in June 2019 as a minority shareholder. Since then, the company has increased annual revenue to £17.8 million in the year to January 2026, while deepening relationships with motorsport brands including McLaren, Lamborghini and Porsche. BGF also backed bf1’s acquisitions of KA Sensors and VPG Sim to expand its product range, and helped the company source its chair, Adam Robson, through the BGF Talent Network.

Bf1, founded in 1994 and headquartered in Diss, Norfolk, designs, manufactures and distributes high-precision components for the motorsport, automotive and aerospace industries, including steering wheels, tire pressure and temperature monitoring systems, force measurement components and integrated electronics.

The company’s technology features across major motorsport series including Formula 1, GT racing, IndyCar and the World Endurance Championship. Its tire pressure monitoring systems have earned bf1 a King’s Award for Enterprise.

Grant Thornton UK advised bf1systems and its shareholders on the transaction.
