Sony Launches 83-inch BRAVIA 6 OLED TV With 4 HDMI 2.1 Ports
Sony has launched the latest BRAVIA 6 OLED series, to provide fairly interesting competitiors in the “mid-range premium” television market. The TV lineup sits below the high-end BRAVIA 9 RGB Mini-LED TV and the BRAVIA 8 OLED models, and marks a return of standard WOLED panels (likely OLED SE variants), which should help Sony lower their TV prices to compete with mid-tier rivals such as LG C6 and Samsung S90 series.
The BRAVIA 6 4K OLED TVs features 120Hz panels and run on Google TV with Gemini for easy access to content. With the intension to hit sweet in the mid-range category, Sony has skipped its more expensive Cognitive Processor XR in favor of standard 4K processing, for these new TVs.
However, they come equipped with Triluminos Pro and auto brightness adjustment technology, which would allow the TVs to deliver perfect black levels and contrast. As expected, the TVs will not match the color and peak brightness of high-end OLED, there will be a difference, but if you consider the price variation in the two, the difference would seem trivial.
Reportedly, Bravia 6 OLEDs will feature Dolby Vision to ensure a cinematic experience, but would likely skip the Bravia 8’s antireflective coating, CNET notes. Sony has included four HDMI 2.1 inputs for the first time in its Bravia models, which makes Bravia 6 OLED TVs ideal choice for those who often connect multiple devices, specifically multi-console gamers.
The TVs support 4K at 120fps, Variable Refresh Rate, and Auto Low Latency Mode for a smoother fast-paced gameplay. And are equipped with two full-range drivers and two tweeters with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support to deliver cinematic audio that complements stunning OLED picture.

The TVs maintain a premium look with a flush, narrow-bezel design of a Bravia that should keep your eyes glued to the screen. Sitting on a two-position adjustable stand the TV will neatly accommodate a soundbar or other connected devices with it.
Sony BRAVIA 6 4K OLED TVs will be available in five sizes: 48, 55, 65, 77 and 83 inches. As highlighted by FlatpanelsHD, Sony is offering an 83-inch OLED TV for the first time after 2023.
