RedBird’s Affinia adds Wilson Partners in UK accounting tie-up

  • The deal broadens Affinia’s specialist advisory capabilities, particularly for international ultra-high-net-worth clients
  • RedBird will keep applying its RedBird X artificial intelligence platform across the enlarged group
  • The combined business spans 33 offices with about 1,600 staff, more than 25,000 clients and annual revenue above £160 million

Affinia, a RedBird Capital Partners portfolio company, has added Wilson Partners, a Fordhouse-backed financial advisory and accounting firm, to its platform.

Wilson Partners is described in the announcement as an award-winning financial advisory and accounting firm serving SMEs, private individuals and private equity investors across the UK.

The addition strengthens Affinia’s position as one of the UK’s Top 20 accounting firms, according to the companies, unlocking broader sector expertise and specialist advisory capabilities, particularly for international ultra-high-net-worth clients.

With continued backing from RedBird, the enlarged group plans further investment in its team, client services and shared technology platforms, alongside an expanded range of tax and business advisory offerings. The group will also continue to use RedBird X, RedBird’s proprietary artificial intelligence platform, to support what the companies describe as the responsible rollout of AI tools across operations and client service.

Since inception, Affinia has built an integrated UK business under common leadership with shared technology and a single culture, according to the announcement. The enlarged group now spans 33 offices with about 1,600 colleagues, serves more than 25,000 clients and generates annual revenue above £160 million ($215 million; €186 million), with a continued focus on owner-managed businesses, entrepreneurs and mid-market organizations.

“Wilson Partners is a strong addition to the platform and further validates our conviction in the opportunity to build a genuinely differentiated advisory firm headquartered in the UK and able to deliver solutions for its clients globally,” said Mike Zabik, partner at RedBird Capital Partners, in a statement.

Affinia and RedBird were advised by Continuum, KPMG, K&E and DWF. Wilson Partners and Fordhouse were advised by Ardea Partners, Cooley, Moorcroft and EY. Jamieson advised management.
