Before You Buy Another Rug, Read This

Interior designers can be divided into two camps. There are those who choose rugs as the very last thing in a room, the final flourish that brings together and unifies all the other choices they’ve made around it. And there are those who pick the rugs first; who start from the ground up; who get one to fit the room exactly and become the base from which all else follows.

Either way, rugs are clearly a very important part of the design process, and that makes picking the perfect one feel overwhelming at times. From how big it should be, what material it should be made from, whether it should be washable or patterned or both or neither, from where to buy rugs to how much to spend on them, there are almost as many decisions to be made as there are rugs to choose from.
