Battle Investment Group completes sale of TRS Services to Allied Power Group
- Alantra served as financial advisor to TRS, with Holland & Knight LLP acting as legal advisor
- TRS is expanding its Houston footprint with a new 50,000-square-foot advanced repair center
- Battle Investment Group backed TRS for nearly two years before the sale
Battle Investment Group has completed the sale of portfolio company TRS Services to Allied Power Group, combining two turbine repair services providers, for undisclosed terms.
TRS Services, founded in 1998 and headquartered in Houston, provides component repair services for industrial gas turbines to owner-operators, original equipment manufacturers, and independent service providers, working with turbines from Siemens Energy, General Electric, and Alstom, among other manufacturers.
Allied Power Group, also headquartered in Houston, is an independent service provider supporting gas and steam turbines and generators, offering component repair, rotor services, field services, and new and refurbished parts. The combination will expand Allied Power Group’s component repair capabilities, particularly within Siemens and Alstom turbines, and add capacity and technical expertise. TRS operates from two adjacent Houston facilities totaling 75,000 square feet and is in the process of adding a 50,000-square-foot advanced repair center.
Cliff Orr, partner at Battle Investment Group, said TRS had “invested heavily in adding repair capabilities, vertically integrating previously outsourced processes, expanding its customer base, and adding capacity with a new advanced repair center” in response to rising electricity demand. Orr added that Battle Investment Group was “pleased that the company has found a new partner in APG that will continue to invest in the business and create opportunities for TRS’s customers and employees.”
Battle Investment Group, headquartered in Atlanta, is a private investment firm focused on the North American defense, government, aerospace, telecommunications, and critical infrastructure markets.
