HOOPP PE head leaves pension fund

The Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan’s (HOOPP) global private equity chief Lori Hall-Kimm is leaving the Canadian pension fund to pursue a new opportunity, according to a report by Bloomberg.

The report cites an internal memo as revealing that Mark Cormier and Roman Gula, both managing directors in HOOPP’s private equity team, will take over as interim co-heads of the strategy, reporting to chief investment officer Michael Wissell.

A HOOPP spokesperson has confirmed the contents of the memo.

Hall-Kimm joined HOOPP in 2022, during which time the pension fund’s private equity net assets increased to CAS24.2bn ($17.5bn), from approximately CAD20bn.

Before joining HOOPP, Hall-Kimm spent six years at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, holding a number of positions within its private equity business.

The pension fund has not disclosed details of Hall-Kimm’s next role.
