SAULUTĖ Upholstered Kids’ Bed Will be the Object of Your Envy

Keeping this in mind, Lithuanian furniture brand Lonas has introduced the playful, minimalist SAULUTĖ bed, specially designed for younger children and teenagers. Bed designer Gaudutė Žilytė combines upholstered construction with built-in storage and ensures the child’s safety. The SAULUTĖ is a bed that you’ll wish you could have for yourself.

The name SAULUTĖ is inspired by Saulė, a Baltic Sun goddess mostly mentioned in Lithuanian and Latvian mythology. The bed provides warmth, comfort, and security for children. The most attention-grabbing feature is its color. The warm terracotta upholstery covers the entire frame, while a soft beige sleeping surface beautifully complements the color scheme. The SAULUTĖ bed has soft and rounded edges, making it feel both protective and design-forward.  

Children’s furniture needs to match their energy. Keeping child safety in mind, the bed is made from high-resistance MDP and MDF boards, joined by metal connectors instead of cheap plastic parts. It also offers adjustable legs that lift the bed 1.5 inches off the floor, offering a strong structure that never wobbles.

The integrated storage is a smart addition, whether it is on the headboard or under the mattress. The headboard features a 15 cm grey wood storage shelf designed for books, mini lights, or any other small bedtime objects. Divided into three smaller sections on each side, the shelf depth is 16 inches for the 31×63 inches bed (for younger) and 18 inches for the 35×78 inches bed (for teenagers). Unfortunately, it doesn’t come in adult sizes.

It also offers a bedding storage box where you can store blankets, pillows, or your little one’s toys that need rest. Two holes help air circulate and keep the belongings fresh. For your child’s safety, a protective side wall prevents them from falling out. You can choose the bumper fabric according to your preference as it is available separately. It blends so well that it doesn’t even look like a separate object, like it was always meant to be.
