Reolink OMVI 2i Ultra Brings Dual-View Security to IFA 2026

Home security cameras have become increasingly capable, but monitoring a larger area can still require installing multiple cameras or accepting blind spots. Reolink wants homeowners to eliminate the hassle with OMVI 2i Ultra, a wire-free security camera that combines two views with smart tracking and solar charging built in.

Revealed at IFA 2026 in Berlin, the OMVI 2i Ultra is the latest addition to Reolink’s award-winning OMVI Series. Its combination of an 8MP wide-view camera and a 5MP pan-tilt camera is designed to watch different directions while allowing the system to follow detected objects across the scene.

One Security Camera, Two Views

The OMVI 2i Ultra uses two cameras for a broader approach to monitoring. The 8MP wide-view camera keeps an eye on the main scene, while the 5MP pan-tilt camera can look in another direction and track detected objects.

This becomes even more interesting with Reolink’s SyncTrack tech. When the wide-view camera detects an object, the lower PT camera can take over tracking, maintaining a continuous view even when the target moves beyond the coverage of the wide-view camera.

The PT camera offers 355-degree pan and 50-degree tilt movement. It can also automatically frame and zoom in on a detected target. Users can manually tap anywhere within the wide-angle view to direct the PT camera to that particular location.

In practical usage, the idea is not just about adding another camera lens; rather, making the two views work together. Instead of having to manually switch between cameras or sacrifice coverage while something moves through the scene, SyncTrack is designed to hand off the tracking between the two perspectives.

Wire-Free Security With Solar Charging

The OMVI 2i Ultra is also designed to reduce the complications that can come with installing a security camera outdoors. It features a detachable 10,000mAh battery and is designed to operate for up to six months on a single charge, based on five minutes of recording per day and all-day standby. Reolink says this is twice the battery life of comparable bullet-PT cameras, which it states can last up to three months.

A built-in 6W solar panel uses Reolink’s SolarEase technology to improve charging efficiency by 26 percent. The company says the camera can continue running with around 30 minutes of daily sunlight, including in low-light and partially shaded conditions. That combination of battery power and integrated solar charging is central to the OMVI 2i Ultra’s appeal.

ReoNeura AI Moves Intelligence On-Device

The new-age camera arrives alongside new capabilities for Reolink’s ReoNeura AI platform. The company describes ReoNeura as an on-device AI engine capable of intelligent detection and analysis without depending on the cloud or a subscription. One of the more distinctive additions is Custom AI Detection, which allows users to define and train the system to recognize specific scenarios relevant to their own space.

Reolink gives the example of training the system to recognize a “Side Gate Open” scenario and then receiving an alert when that event occurs. The idea is to make security alerts more relevant to individual homes rather than relying only on predefined detection categories.

Home Hub 2 Adds Local AI Video Search

Reolink is also introducing the Home Hub 2, a local, subscription-free hub for storing, searching, and managing footage from Reolink cameras. The hub’s standout feature is Local AI Video Search, which allows users to search recorded footage using natural-language descriptions without requiring a cloud subscription. This fits with the company’s broader push toward keeping more of the intelligence and footage management local.

Home Hub 2 can connect up to eight Reolink cameras and supports up to 16TB of external storage. Reolink says the Home Hub 2 will be available in fall 2026 for $199.99. The fact that it doesn’t make cloud services a prerequisite for advanced features is a big advantage at that price.

A Broader Smart Home Ecosystem

Alongside the OMVI range, Reolink is introducing the TrackFlex WiFi, a 4K dual-lens camera with 270-degree out-of-view detection, 355-degree pan and 50-degree tilt, auto-tracking zoom, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, and AI-based identification of people, vehicles, and animals. It is scheduled to be available in the U.S. on October 20 for $199.99.

At IFA 2026, Reolink is also showcasing other products, including the OMVI X16 PoE, its flagship OMVI model with 24MP resolution and 16x optical zoom, as well as the OMVI 3i PoE & WiFi. The company expects the OMVI X16 PoE to launch in Q4 2026, while the latter two will arrive in June 2026.
