PrimeBOT Humanoid and Transforming Robot Live at IFA 2026
Humanoids are the next big thing, as major players are already making good progress in developing meaningful human-bot relationships. We’ve already had a glimpse of PrimeBOT’s humanoids at CES 2026, and now at the ongoing IFA 2026 event, the Chinese consumer robotics brand has showcased the two intelligent robots – T1 and Q1.
Both these humanoids are built around the vision of “Creating a Better Life through Embodied Intelligence,” to ease personal robotics into everyday life. That makes complete sense as humanoid robots head into the next phase, beyond autonomous utility, advancing towards agile mobility, broader customization, emotional companionship, and creative learning evolution.
According to PrimeBOT International Market CMO Yuan Zou, a personal robot needs to do tasks daily to create value rather than doing all at once. That is kick-started with “interaction, companionship, learning, and creativity.” The bond is deepened as the robot begins to understand the user and the home, and eventually “expands into more meaningful physical assistance.”
Yuan rightfully added that before a robot can become truly useful in the home, it first has to “earn its place there.” This core idea has propelled the PrimeBOT T1 to win the IFA Innovation Award for Content Creation Technology, while the PrimeBOT Q1 bagged the IFA NEXT Honoree at Messe Berlin.
PrimeBOT T1
This transforming robot from PrimeBOT is designed to be a companion that can move swiftly indoors. Giving up the constraints of a single mobility robot, T1 showcased at the event how agile it can be. Moving from one corner to the other, makes swift turns when in quadrupedal mode, or even negotiates steps and uneven surfaces with ease. Interestingly, it can also double as a power bank for times when your gadgets are running out of steam.
The cross-scenario mobility of the robot is honed by pre-programmed movement templates to keep things interesting for the user. T1 can follow the user autonomously, and even film in 15-plus professional camera movements. Learning is at the bot’s core as it gradually eases children into a familiar AI-centric future dominated by human-AI collaboration. This robot on show at IFA acts as a companion while also being a tutor, remote-controlled toy, or emotional development assistant.
PrimeBOT Q1
The more interesting of the two humanoids is the PrimeBOT Q1. Touted as the world’s smallest full-body force-controlled robot, this one is tailored for homes and classrooms. The 88 cm tall robot is capable of 22 degrees of freedom in movement and can pull off more than 10 martial arts moves. That said, it is designed to be completely safe for close-range interactions.
During our time with the Q1 humanoid, we experienced its warm nature in full bloom as it walked the floor holding our hands. According to the developers, the robot can be fully customized by changing the appearance, behaviours, or voice modulation. This is done to make the robot future-proof and relevant in the current AI-dominated space. The overall look of Q1 can be overhauled with 3D-printed parts and modular head replacements.
PrimeBOT Q1 has now been improved with touch sensors for caress detection and a circular microphone array for sound localization and better interactions with users. The multi-camera setup on the bot makes sure it gets the context right and moves around more fluidly in real-world scenarios.
