UBS Recruits Morgan Stanley, Merrill Advisors Managing $2.7B

UBS has recruited three teams of financial advisors from Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch, where they collectively managed close to $2.7 billion in client assets.

The advisors, from Colorado, Maryland and Washington, affiliated with the wirehouse on Friday.

In the largest recruitment win, Pueblo, Colo.-based advisors Caitlin Alcon, Calvin Mason, and Craig Cisney, who managed $1.4 billion at Morgan Stanley, switched to a UBS location in the Mountain West market, according to UBS news release.

The advisors are supported by team associates Nancy Wickham and Delaney Delport.

Mason has nearly 35 years of experience in the brokerage and financial advisory business, while Alcon has worked with high-net-worth individuals, business owners, families, and non-profits for more than 25 years, according to the release.

Before transitioning to the financial services business in 2013 with Morgan, Cisney spent 17 years as a broadcast meteorologist for the Colorado Springs affiliate of NBC, according to UBS and Cisney’s LinkedIn profile.

Advisors Richard Horn, his son Gerald Horn and Jeffrey Deckelbaum left Morgan Stanley, where they managed $750 million, to join UBS’s Bethesda, Md., office, which is led by market executive Jake Shine, UBS said.

Shine noted that the advisors have served HNW and ultra-high-net-worth clients for decades.

“Their commitment to clients and strong reputation in the market make them a great addition to our team as we continue to grow our presence in the region,” he said in a statement.

Richard spent all of his nearly 40-year career in financial services at Morgan Stanley, which he joined in 1987, while his son Gerald, a third-generation financial advisor, has been in the industry since 2018, when he joined Morgan, according to the release.

Their partner Deckelbaum began his financial services career in 2006 at his former firm.

John Hall and his firm, the Hall Wealth Management Group, which managed $500 million at Merrill Lynch, joined UBS’s Bellevue, Wash., office.

Hall has 21 years of experience serving business owners, executives, entrepreneurs and multigenerational families, according to the release.

The advisor’s team includes financial advisor Aaron Marshall and client associate Jennifer Teddy.
