Invesco Launches Unified Platform for Custom Strategies

Invesco announced an update of its unified global investment platform and the appointment of a new global head of solutions and custom strategies.

The firm’s Invesco Solutions & Custom Strategies platform, designed to deliver customized products to private wealth and institutional clients, will now combine public and private market investment options and active and passive strategies.

The integrated platform will be able to execute multi-asset strategies, model portfolios, including custom models, SMAs, tax-advantaged solutions and bespoke institutional mandates.

“Invesco Solutions & Custom Strategies strengthens the connection between our global investment platform and the specific outcomes our clients are seeking,” Stephanie Butcher, co-head of investments at Invesco, said in a statement. “By uniting our existing customization capabilities into a single, globally coordinated offering, we are better positioned to partner with clients on increasingly sophisticated portfolio needs while maintaining our focus on investment excellence and disciplined risk management.”

In addition, Invesco appointed Clint Harris to the newly created role of global head of solutions and custom strategies and hired Darby Nielson as CIO of multi-asset solutions. Harris will be responsible for advancing the connection between portfolio construction expertise and client engagement across regions and channels. He will report to Butcher. Darby Nielson will report to Harris.

Invesco’s move appears in line with the current focus on customization within the asset management industry. With financial advisors’ growing interest in investment products tailored to clients’ needs, there has been a push within the industry to offer custom models, SMAs and other investment options that promise a personalized approach. For example, research firm Cerulli Associates projects that retail SMAs will reach $3.6 trillion in 2026. Meanwhile, a survey of financial advisors by Morningstar found that lack of customization was the number one reason advisors were foregoing model portfolios, with 47% citing it as a drawback.
