‘I think of Revere Pewter as a timeless neutral – somewhere between a warm gray and a soft taupe. It has the most wonderful ability to shift subtly with the light. Revere Pewter has an old house quality to it where it feels as though it could have been part of the original palette of a historic home rather than a color chosen to follow a trend,’ says Kelly Galvin Robson, principal designer and creative director at High Street Home Design.

‘Revere Pewter is a great staple color for anyone looking for that perfect beige. In some lights it is very soft and creamy, and in others it lends itself more to the taupe family with a slightly green hue,’ adds Yvonne Christensen, co-founder of House West Design.

‘For me, the appeal of Revere Pewter in a kitchen is how naturally it works with both warm and cool tones,’ adds interior designer Candace Plotz. ‘A kitchen is often a mix of so many different materials and finishes, and I love a color that can bring those elements together. ‘Revere Pewter is perfect for kitchen cabinetry and is a welcome alternative to an all-white kitchen. It brings warmth and character without making the space feel heavy. In a historic or traditional home, I prefer a kitchen to feel connected to the architecture, and this color has that quality,’ Kelly explains.

‘It works beautifully with painted millwork, natural wood, stone, and aged metals, so it allows the kitchen to feel like it’s always been there (rather than feeling too new). The result is soft, timeless, and inviting – something that can evolve with the home rather than look tied to a particular moment.’

‘We love to use Revere Pewter on cabinetry, especially perimeter cabinets, as it provides a backdrop for the kitchen. We also tend to use it on paneled appliances,’ Elsa notes.

‘Revere Pewter is especially beautiful when used throughout the architectural elements of a kitchen – cabinetry, trim, beadboard, wainscoting, or even a built-in pantry. It gives a kitchen a more historic, layered feeling and offers something different from the ubiquitous all-white kitchen, while still feeling completely timeless,’ Kelly notes.

‘We love using it on kitchen cabinetry because it has a softness that allows the kitchen to feel established and collected rather than brand new. It is also a color that will age gracefully, making it a wonderful choice for a home where longevity and classic design are priorities.’

If you’re introducing Revere Pewter to kitchen walls, Arianna suggests a darker cabinet color for a striking contrast. ‘Revere Pewter is an excellent choice for kitchen walls. I like to pair it with darker cabinets in colors like Kendall Charcoal HC-166, Hale Navy HC-154, or Essex Green HC-188. Pairing it with a darker cabinet color will bring out its lighter side.’

For a softer, earthier scheme, Revere Pewter pairs harmoniously with shades of green. ‘Green works well with Revere Pewter because the two colors harmonize, rather than fighting, due to the green undertones in Revere Pewter. We like to use Smokebush and Backwoods from Benjamin Moore,’ Elsa adds. ‘We have also used off-whites with Revere Pewter such as White Dove, Natural Cream, Swiss Coffee, and November Rain.’
