Pro-Ject Audio Launches Limited-Edition Harley-Davidson Turntable
Austrian hi-fi brand Pro-Ject Audio has launched many themed turntables, including those referencing popular rock bands like AC/DC and Metallica. Now it is back with a special-edition Harley-Davidson turntable, which goes beyond adding a logo or color palette. This limited-edition piece pairs a unique sculptural form with polished aluminum, stainless steel, and leather for a collectible appeal.
The Pro-Ject x Harley-Davidson turntable features a distinctive chassis shaped like the iconic motorcycle brand’s Bar & Shield logo. The design does not just print the logo; rather, it shapes the entire record player after it. The main body is constructed from aluminum with an MDF layer that helps absorb unwanted vibrations, while metallic elements give it a motorcycle-like appearance.
Alongside Harley-Davidson aesthetics, the turntable also utilizes serious hi-fi engineering. The drive system combines a diamond-cut aluminum sub-platter with a glass main platter and a 915g Harley-Davidson record puck. This results in a total moving mass of 2.75kg that helps it maintain rotational stability.
The platter is driven by a belt and a synchronous AC motor powered through Pro-Ject’s DC/AC generator. A 300mm leather mat under the vinyl record references traditional motorcycle seats/saddles.
The Pro-Ject x Harley-Davidson turntable has an 8.6-inch S-shaped aluminum tonearm with an SME-style removable headshell, high-quality internal wiring and a TPE-damped counterweight. The arm can be really useful as it lets you add a wider range of cartridges apart from the included model.

The turntable also utilizes a gravity-based anti-skating mechanism that automatically adjusts the effective anti-skating force across the record surface to maintain optimal record groove tracking. Three height-adjustable aluminum feet isolate the deck from external vibration and acoustic feedback. Furthermore, it includes a rocker switch, letting you change speeds easily.
Measuring 543W x 124H x 437D mm (21.3 x 4.8 x 17.2 inches), the Pro-Ject Harley-Davidson luxury turntable is priced at $3,299 in the USA, which takes it straight to the expensive league. You can find several high-end turntables in this price range, but you are paying for Harley-Davidson styling and premium finishes.
