DJI Launches ROMO 2 Series of Robot Vacuum Cleaners at IFA 2026
The famous drone maker DJI has showcased its latest ROMO 2 series of robot vacuum cleaners at IFA 2026 in Berlin, showing its strategy to expand into the home cleaning segment. Featuring a similar translucent design to the earlier DJI ROMO, the new Romo A2 and Romo P2 are focused on better obstacle detection and data privacy. Both models are more efficient with drone obstacle-sensing technology for millimeter-level awareness and AI-powered cleaning that references previous uses.
The most interesting point of the ROMO 2 series is the distinctive design. The Romo P2 features a premium build with a curvy shape, while the transparent cover adds a unique touch by showcasing the internal components. The A2 version features the same design, except for the opaque cover.
The DJI ROMO 2 robot vacuum cleaners boast 36,000 Pa suction power, significantly higher than the first-generation ROMO’s 25,000 Pa. What makes them stand out are the onboard mechanical arms with a 123-degree swivel range that allow them to reach 7.8 cm further into tight corners and 4.5 cm deeper under furniture.
These robot vacuum cleaners also include robotic legs that allow them to climb over obstacles up to 8.5 cm high, meaning they can detect door sills in advance and lift automatically for smoother crossing. The upgraded sensing system also avoids transparent obstacles and cables as thin as 2mm, DJI claims.
The ROMO 2 series supports four cleaning modes: “Sweep and Mop Combo,” “Single Scan,” “Single Mop,” and “Sweep First, Mop Then Mop.” You can also customize your cleaning plan via the cleaning plan card on the companion mobile app.
After full charging, the robot can operate for about three hours in single-scan cleaning mode. During those 3 hours, it can clean approximately 178 square meters (about 1,916 square feet) of floor area. The ROMO 2 series can replenish 18 Ah-hours of battery in half an hour of charging and can operate continuously for 36 minutes in sweep-mop mode.

Each unit is accompanied by a self-cleaning base station that can store dust for up to 365 days. The base station features 80-degree centigrade high-temperature self-cleaning, which reduces dirt buildup and prevents odors.
DJI has also tried to maximize privacy in the robot vacuum cleaners. A built-in local data mode that can disconnect the DJI Home app from the internet to prevent photos or videos from being unintentionally synchronized with external servers. You can deactivate the camera and microphone at any time via the app, and delete all shared personal data at any time.
According to Notebookcheck, these floor cleaning robots are available for purchase in the European market. The DJI Romo P2 (water tank version) is priced at €1,299 (around $1,505), while the Romo A2 (water tank version) is priced at €1,199 (around $1,390).
